Frequently Asked Questions
What is Bud Love?
Bud Love is a Premium Herbal+ Mixer that’s designed to be combined with your favorite strains and enjoyed together, like the mixer in a cocktail – only for flower. It allows you to craft a happier, smoother and more personalized experience.
Is Bud Love natural?
Yes! Bud Love is made with all-natural ingredients.
Does Bud Love contain cannabis, THC, CBD, tobacco or nicotine?
No! Bud Love contains NO cannabis, THC*, delta-8*, CBD*, tobacco or nicotine. You can view a full lab analysis of each Bud Love packet – see “Do you publish a Certificate of Analysis?” below for more detail.
*Non-detect at 0.001%.
What is Bud Love made from?
Bud Love is made from all-natural ingredients: marshmallow leaf (>80%), hemp-derived CBG (>10%), and natural plant-derived terpenes (2-3%*). We’ve perfected our formulations over time so you can experience the benefits of these amazing ingredients, in the right proportions, together with your favorite flower.
*Except for Unflavored, Tobacco Flavored and certain Seasonal scents that do not contain terpenes.
Will Bud Love get me buzzed?
No! Bud Love won’t give you a buzz on its own. But, when mixed with flower, it complements it and brings out its best qualities. All while moderating unwanted side-effects like anxiety and paranoia.
Why add a mixer to flower?
Adding a mixer to flower is not a new idea. Many people around the world smoke flower with tobacco, and some people like to add herbs like lavender or rose. They do it for scent and in the case of tobacco for the effect of nicotine. Adding Bud Love to cannabis not only improves the scent, but also makes for a smoother, more happy experience. See “How does Bud Love make bud better?” below for more detail.
Will Bud Love dilute my buzz?
No! Because the CBG in Bud Love complements the THC in flower, a 50:50 mix (by weight) of Bud Love and flower is just as powerful as a pure flower joint. But if you want, you can add extra Bud Love for a more mellow and functional buzz.
Will not coughing reduce my buzz?
No! That’s a common misconception. The larger the toke the more you get buzzed, but the more you cough. With Bud Love you can take big tokes and not cough. Read more about this in our blog article article.
Can I consume Bud Love in a vaporizer?
Yes! You can consume Bud Love in a dry herb vaporizer. Just mix with flower and enjoy.
Can I make edibles using Bud Love?
Yes! You can make edibles using Bud Love in the same way as you would using flower. Just mix with flower and do the rest as usual.
Can I consume Bud Love on its own?
Yes! Bud Love won’t give you a buzz on its own (it’s designed to complement flower), but it can be enjoyed alone – some people say it helps them relax.
Is Bud Love a good substitute for tobacco?
Yes! Bud Love can replace tobacco or grabba in your spliffs. We even have a nicotine-free tobacco flavored Bud Love. Plus you’ll still get all the benefits of marshmallow leaf, CBG and terpenes* – see “How does Bud Love make bud better?” below for more detail.
*Except for Unflavored, Tobacco Flavored and certain Seasonal scents that do not contain terpenes.
Is Bud Love like adding herbs?
No! Most herbs that are mixed with bud (e.g. lavender and rose) only affect the scent. In addition to the scent, Bud Love actually enhances and improves the buzz – see “How does Bud Love make bud better?” below.
Is adding Bud Love like adding CBD?
No! Actually the opposite. CBD is known to cancel the effect of THC and so will kill your buzz. Bud Love enhances and improves the buzz – see “How does Bud Love make bud better?” below.
Is Bud Love like K2/Spice?
Not at all! Unlike K2/Spice, Bud Love will not give you a buzz on its own and is made with natural and legal ingredients. In contrast, K2/Spice contains artificial cannabinoids designed to give you a buzz (with unwanted side-effects) while getting around drug regulations. K2/Spice is now illegal.
How does Bud Love MAKE BUD BETTER?
The marshmallow leaf in Bud Love makes for a smoother smoke without coughing. Unlike other mixers that can be added to bud, Bud Love contains CBG (>10%) for a happier, more social buzz with no anxiety or paranoia. It also has >30 natural terpenes* carefully selected for their scent and effect (uplifting, inspired or relaxed). And since Bud Love complements flower, you’ll get the buzz you want using less flower.
*Except for Unflavored, Tobacco Flavored and certain Seasonal scents that do not contain terpenes.
Does Bud Love help with t-breaks?
The CBG is Bud Love is thought to help cleanse the endocannabinoid system and so help restore tolerance to THC. However, different people respond differently to CBG and it can take some time of regular consumption of CBG to achieve the desired results. For more information, so our blog article.
What does Bud Love taste like?
Marshmallow leaf has a mild earthy flavor. Bud Love is less about improving taste (bud tastes pretty awesome already) than about the effects – a smoother smoke with no coughing, a happier, social buzz with no anxiety or paranoia, and the ability to get the effect you want with less weed.
Have you tested Bud Love with flower users?
Uh… yeah. A lot! In blind studies conducted in April/May 2022, participants were provided with a 50:50 Bud Love pre-roll and a control. 8 out of 10 reported preferring the Bud Love pre-rolls compared to flower on its own, and 9 out of 10 smokers who regularly experience flower side-effects reported less or no anxiety or paranoia with Bud Love pre-rolls compared to the same amount of flower on its own. See www.budlove.com/blindstudies for a video of some of the studies.
How much Bud Love should I use?
Bud Love is more dense than most ground cannabis – it’s much more than it looks! We suggest starting at a 50:50 ratio by weight or 1/3 Bud Love 2/3 flower by sight (volume), and then experimenting to find your perfect ratio. If you get anxiety or paranoia with flower, start with an 80-90% Bud Love: 10-20% flower mixture and work your way up. For best effects, there should be at least 25% Bud Love in the mixture.
How can I get the best from my Bud Love?
- Select the Bud Love direction (vibe) you want to move your strain in.
- Add Bud Love to flower at your favorite ratio (we recommend at least 25% Bud Love by weight).
- Mix flower and Bud Love well (grind together with flower or mix in a small bowl).
- Consume Bud Love mixture just like you would flower.
- Keep your Bud Love in a sealed container, in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight.
- For best results, do not consume flower before having Bud Love – start fresh.
- You can make your favorite Bud Love mixes ahead of time and store them like you would Bud Love for later use.

What is marshmallow leaf and why is it in Bud Love?
Marshmallow leaf is an ancient medicinal herb used for respiratory complaints. It’s one of the most commonly smoked leaves in the world and is popular in Asia as a tobacco substitute. What is CBG and why is it in Bud Love?
CBG is known as the mother cannabinoid because it is naturally used in the cannabis plant to make all other cannabinoids (including THC and CBD). For more detail on CBG see our: blog article.
What are terpenes and why does Bud Love have them?
Terpenes are nature’s scent molecules. They’re what gives lemons their smell and bud its distinct scent. Each strain of flower has its own unique mixture of terpenes that are believed to impact the experience, from relaxing for Indica strains through to uplifting for Sativa. There are over 30 different natural terpenes in each Bud Love packet* in specific ratios designed to create a particular aroma and enable certain effects (active, inspired, relaxed).
*Except for Unflavored, Tobacco Flavored and certain Seasonal scents that do not contain terpenes.
What terpenes does Bud Love contain?
Except for Unflavored, Tobacco Flavored and certain Seasonal scents that don’t have terpenes, Bud Love products contain proprietary blends of over 30 different terpenes, with a specific blend for each that’s designed to help create a certain vibe. Although the exact blend formulas are confidential, they do all contain the following terpenes: α-Bisabolol; α-Humulene; α-Pinene; β-Caryophyllene; β-Myrcenel; β-Pinene; δ-Limonene; and Linalool.
What's the meaning of the different vibes?
Each Bud Love scent has a unique combination of ingredients that affect how you might experience your buzz. The different vibes move your sesh in different directions, although the final result will depend on the cannabis strain used and the ratio of mixing. Our four vibes are:
- Active: moves your strain in an active, sativa-like direction;
- Inspired: moves your strain in a creative, hybrid-like direction;
- Relaxed: moves your strain in a relaxed, indica-like direction;
- Balances: adds a balanced, centered vibe to your sesh.
Experiment and enjoy!
